Please note that the following activities will take place within approximately 30 days after approval by the Public Service Commission.
All owners of property where new or expanded easements are needed will receive an introductory packet of information by mail that will include:
- Overview of project.
- Easement documents.
- Company representative contact information.
- Survey permission agreement.
Within approximately 14 days of mailing of the introductory packet, a company representative (usually a Right of Way Agent) will schedule a meeting with those property owners to:
- Show location of requested easement on property.
- Explain easement documents.
- Make initial offer.
- Obtain the signed survey permission agreement, if necessary.
If the offer is satisfactory:
- Easement documents will be signed and notarized.
- Payment to property owners will be issued within one week of signature in most cases.
If additional time is necessary to consider offer:
- Company representatives will negotiate with property owners to attempt to reach a mutually acceptable agreement.
During construction:
- Company representatives will remain in contact with property owners throughout the duration of construction on their property to address any additional issues that may arise.
