Putting the green in home building...and your pocket.
You've decided to build a new home. Congratulations! We can help you make the most of your investment with a HERS labeled or ENERGY STAR® certified home built to save energy and money. Builders who have achieved the HERS label or ENERGY STAR® rating have been trained to build you a safer, more comfortable home that's built to last.
Plus, when you build an Energy-Saving home, you receive the additional benefit of knowing you are helping the environment because these homes use less energy, which reduces the environmental impact associated with electric generation. LG&E and KU have received the nationally recognized ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year Award for the third consecutive year for the successes of the Energy-Saving New Homes Program. ![]() LG&E and KU, an ENERGY STAR partner since 2009, will be honored for its long-term commitment to energy efficiency. Since February 2009, LG&E and KU have helped spur the construction of more than 2,800 ENERGY STAR certified homes within the service territories. The LG&E and KU Energy-Saving New Homes Program was created in 2008 as part of the Energy Efficiency programs portfolio to help educate builders, customers and industry leaders about how to build more energy-efficient homes and to propel more energy-efficient home construction within the utilities' service territories.
